Chit Chat Cafe Live Hosts Nancy Bartie and Lisa Kocher are applauding Diane Latiker, the fabulously courageous grandmother in Roseland, Chicago who invites the kids inside her home to help them better themsleves! CNN reported, "In one of Chicago's most dangerous neighborhoods, many residents stay off the streets to protect themselves from rampant gang violence, but one grandmother opened her door and invited gang members to come inside." It didn't take rocket science, television stars, or other games...it took the heart of one grandmother to make a change!!
Mrs. Latiker reported that she's helped more than 1,500 youth since 2003 with her nonprofit community program, "Kids Off the Block." We are applauding her for her courage, strength, love, and hope! Amazing how it took one person, Mrs. Latiker, to start this program in her living room ~ and the difference she is making with the youth, gangs, and community to put an end to violence!
It's time to change the world, one person at a time, one teen at a time, and Mrs. Latiker is doing just that! Hats off to her!
