Chit Chat Cafe Live Hosts Nancy Bartie, Lisa Kocher, and Correspondent Betty Anne Martino enjoyed an amazing evening talking with Davy Jones of The Monkees! http://www.artistfirst.com/chitchat.htm They were fans as teens, and will always remember this night as one of the best ever having heartthrob Davy Jones as their guest! Davy has maintained his allure as a sexy icon to millions of fans through many generations ever since Davy first invaded our young hearts in the 1960's. We loved watching The Monkees on TV with Davy Jones, Peter Tork, Michael Nesmith, and Micky Dolenz! Davy started as a serious actor as a child playing Tom Sawyer, Oliver, and performing in church and school plays and Broadway! Davy has been a successful actor and a comedian, artist, composer, rock musician, and horseman.
Davy shared, "“I’ve always thought if all the show business success hadn’t happened, I’d have been a world champion jockey. It’s in my blood. I’ve always dreamed of going back to England — riding a few winners,” he says. David still rides and trains his beloved racehorses to be winners! He won his first race in England in 1996 on his prized horse, Digpast!
Tonight on Chit Chat Cafe Live Davy shared with us his love for performing his music! He said, "It doesn't matter whether I'm performing to an audience of 10 people or 10,000 plus...I still get energized and enjoy every moment of the performance!"

Chit Chat Cafe Live Hosts Nancy and Lisa, along with our Correspondent, Betty Anne, were overjoyed when Davy sang to them tonight LIVE on their show. He sang a bit from his hit song, "Girl" and "Daydream Believer" as the hosts screamed with excitement having Davy Jones sing to them!
Davy shared his love for the ocean, sharing with the hosts that he was enjoying the sunset from his deck! He was proud to relate his feelings saying, "All children should take the opportunity to experience school plays during their youth....this is a valuable experience to be cherished in your life."
Davy began entertaining when he was eleven years old in the ITV soap opera, Coronation Street. While in London he portrayed the "Artful Dodger" from Dicken's in the West End production of Oliver. At age sixteen, Davy was the toast of New York, where he originated the Artful Dodger role on Broadway and was nominated for a Tony Award!
Davy spoke with pride to the Chit Chat Cafe Live Hosts how The Monkees were created. Davy said, "Ward Sylvester, the executive producer of The Monkees was my manager at the time. We looked for different types of guys to be part of his idea for this TV show!" ‘That’s it ... magic! We’ll use you four!’” Also a musical group, The Monkees’ album sales surpassed all records, and they continue to be best-sellers thirty years later.
Nancy, Lisa, and Betty Anne asked Davy about appearing on The Brady Bunch. Davy shared, "That was perhaps the most celebrated television appearance in my career, in The Brady Bunch episode, “Getting Davy Jones.” Not only was he Marcia Brady’s dream prom date, but the episode is one of the most frequently aired reruns in television history. As a result, Davy reprised that role in the 1995 The Brady Bunch Movie." Davy also shared with us how proud he was to play the complex role of Fagin where he received raved reviews for his performance in Oliver!
We will have to have Davy join us again on Chit Chat Cafe Live to talk about his writing! He's an accomplished writer and humorous storyteller. He just completed the second edition of his autobiography, Davy Jones: Daydream Believin'. It will be great to have Davy back to talk about his motivational seminars, speeches, and of course to get an update on his concert tours!
The show was a success with Davy Jones as our guest!
